With all-star tonewoods, artful appointments, top-tier craftsmanship and a distinctively bold, contemporary voice, Taylor’s 800 Series blends a seamless playing experience with unmatched clarity and balance. The time-honored combination of solid Indian rosewood with Sitka spruce produces a versatile tone rich with harmonic texture and ringing overtones, with V-Class bracing inside most models to dial up greater volume and sustain. Sharp aesthetic details, the comfortable Taylor neck, player-focused features like the radius armrest and a wide selection of body styles, the American-made 800 Series sits at the intersection of craft and wide-ranging musical inspiration—whether you’re interested in our array of standard models or the ultra-refined pair of Builder’s Edition models.

The 814ce has long been considered Taylor's flagship acoustic-electric guitar thanks to its mix of lush tone, playing comfort and all-purpose musical appeal. Here, we're thrilled to present the next evolution of this classic model: the Builder's Edition 814ce. For this version, we've kept the solid Indian rosewood back and sides and paired them with a four-piece Adirondack spruce top, a combo that yields an enticing blend of low-end warmth, treble-range clarity and remarkable power, with our V-Class bracing inside to draw out more of the blooming overtones and rich sustain that players love. A handful of comfort-focused enhancements, such as a beveled armrest and cutaway and a subtle body taper, elevate the relaxed, accommodating feel of the Grand Auditorium body, while a striking full-body gloss finish and Kona burst for the back and sides raise this model's visual profile. Whether you're looking for an all-purpose musical workhorse or an heirloom-quality guitar to augment your collection, the Builder's Edition 814ce makes a compelling case as the most quintessentially "Taylor" guitar we've ever built.

Grand Auditorium
Taylor’s signature shape embodies the ultimate all-purpose acoustic.

Indian Rosewood
The tonewood superstar. Popular, traditional, and versatile, Bob Taylor puts Indian rosewood among the greatest tonewoods ever.

Adirondack Spruce
Known for its high volume ceiling and dynamic, lively response, Adirondack spruce retains exceptional clarity even with an aggressive attack.

Expression System 2
The Expression System 2 captures more of a guitar’s dynamic properties using a breakthrough behind-the-saddle design.

Beveled Cutaway
Our beveled cutaway design provides a more player-friendly feel for guitarists who utilize every inch of the fretboard. It features a compound design with a smoothened edge along the corner of the body between the end of the cutaway and the neck heel, providing a more comfortable feel for the fretting hand.

V-Class Bracing
Our patented V-Class bracing is a revolutionary new pattern — a new sonic engine — that marks a major shift away from traditional steel-string bracing patterns.

This LIKE NEW guitar went from the manufacturer to their authorized refurbisher MIRC, where it received a full multi-point inspection and expert setup - it is ready to play!  No visible repairs were needed, and no modifications were made except the back of the headstock was gently stamped used. On the back of this guitar, I noticed a small area where there appears to be a very small depression or dip in the wood under the clear coat.  It's about the size of a dime and very shallow with a tiny mark in the middle. However, the top clear coat finish over this area is flat and smooth.  I zoomed-in to the photos and circled in yellow the mark in the middle of this area.

Check-out the videos on YouTube and more information on the company website.  This is a Great guitar at a Great Price!

Enjoy!
